SPEECH AT ASHBTJRf ONI By Telegraph—Press Association. - ASHBURTON, Last Night. The Premier, who arrived in Ashburton this afternoon, addressed a crowded meeting of over 800 people at the Oddfellow's Hall to-night. He spoke for two hours, and defended the Government from recent attacks. He dwelt at length with the favoured position of the country, and expounded recent legislation. At the conclusion of his address, he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks and confidence.
