A MASTERTON SHOW COMPETITION. The pigeon race for the lady's bangle", of a value of £5 ss, in>conuection with the Master ton A: and P. Association's show., was one of the most successful features of the whole The weather was idea, fqr a good competition. The birds, over_2oo in number, were liberated at IL3O a.m., at'the Summit railwaj- station: Just before twelve o'clock they-were seen passing over the showgrounds, the whole flight -being'; very close together. In a very short time they had arrived at 'their lofts, where the owners were all waiting, eager to trap the winner. The winning bird was R. Person's Meteor, and Mrs E. M. Bannister was the nominee. J. B. F. Sutherland',s Dora was a very close ...second, and the nominee (Mrs F. B. Rosson) wins Mr G;. R. ! Sykes' .spe ? -cial trophy. - From the success of .the race it may confidently be anticipated: that it will again be placed on the list of events next year.
