AMUSEMENTS

THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. The popularity of Messrs Thompson and Payne's entertainments was again exemplified last evening when the new programme was greeted with a house packed to the doors, Tt was an excellent -billrof-fare suitable to all tastes, each film being greeted with rounds of applause. Two capital Indian' dramas were presented/ viz., "The Indian Raiders" and "The Indian Girl's Love." The former depicts some exciting incidents in a hunt by United States cavalry for desperate Indian cattle thieves, while the latter is a thrilling story of how an Indian girl was saved from the brutality -of her Indian husband. "An Unselfish Love" is a delightful subject with a well thought out plot, while "The Foundling" is a pathetic story. The two comedies, "Wooing a Widow," and "How Hubby Got a" Rise," were certainly all that -was claimed for •them, being the best of this class of •subject seen in Masterton for .some time. Several beautiful coloured scenics were shown, including "Sport in India," "Rock-splitting hi the Black Forest," and "Lake Major.". The comics, were quite'up to. the usual high standard. Excellent music was supplied by ithe T;-P, orchestra. The programme will bo repeated this evening, when another full house should be recorded.
