THE RECIPROCITY AGREEMENT PRESIDENT TAFT'S CAMPAIGN. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) NEW YORK, February 11. " The Committee of the House of Representatives voted, to delay the passage of the reciprocity agreement. It is believed, however, to be favourable to its acceptance. President Taft, in opening his campaign at Columbus, Ohio, assured the farmers that they -would benefit under reciprocity. Canada and the United States, he said, would be united socially and commercially for their mutual benefit. OTTAWA, February 11. A movement for lowering the British preference is being started. It as believed to be. an'offset to the sentimental considerations attaching to the reciprocity with the United States. BILL REPORTED FAVOURABLE. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.); . NEW YORK, February 11. The Ways and Means Committee of Congress has reported favourably on the Reciprocity Bill.
