Bates' summary and weather forecast are as follows: — Warm and hazy weather has prevailed, but rain is reported in th? ■ far north. This afternoon easi>> -!y winds have prevailed. A gale is reported at Russell, but elsewhere the winds are generally moderate to strong. The barometer has laiLa everywhere. Present indications, ore for. a falling barometer, with increasing northerly and easts-ly winds generally. Warm and hazy weather; preceding rain, in irn st parts of the country. There ire judications for a southerly gale in iJie southern districts after about thirty hours, and stormy weather generally.
