PAHIATUA-AKITIO SHOW.
(By Our Special Reporter.) Notwithstanding the threatening aspect early yesterday morning, fine weather prevailed for the PaliiatuaAkitio A. and P. Association's second annual show. The attendance was rather smail early in the day, •but later in the afternoon it was most satisfactory. Good entries were received on the whole, and the exhibits were of a fairly good average quality. The horses were an excellent class, and' the jumping was particularly interesting. ■ The cheep have improved, but the cattle have gone back as compared with the previous show. Tlie Jersey aged bull class was very good, but the Jersey cows were rather poor. Dairy cows were a fair lot, but the majority were very dry and harsh, probably owing to the effect of the dry season which has prevailed. The heifer classes wero not good, but weaner entries were on tho whole of very fair quality. Sheep showed a great improvement on last year's show. A large number exhibited by Mr W. E. C. Tylee (64) were spoken of by the judge as being of very superior quality, and stood above the other entries. Mr Tylee's sheep are to be sent on to Masterton. The success of the show was due largely to the efforts of a few enthusiasts, at the head of whom the secretary, Mr J. A. Walsh,- figured prominently. Following is the PRIZE LIST. J HORSES.
