AUCKLAND SHARE MAI-.*£:■.•. Mr J. T. Hendry, shardm-l-or, of Auckland (in conjunction with Mossra C. C. Ross and Co., his local agents), report the following quotations of business at the first call cf the Auckland Stock I'Lvdiango jostcrday morning:—

LONDON WOOL SALES

Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London agents, dated 7th hist.: —The sales have closed with merino and fine crossbreds showing an advance of o per cent on opening rates, medium crossbreds closing on a par with opening rates, while coarse crossbreds closed weak on a par with opening rat-es. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house, under date 7th hist.:—The sales closed with good competition. During the series 181,000 bales were sold, of which 66,000 were, taken for the Continent, and 4,000 for America, 17,000 bales being held over. As compared with the preceding series, closing prices were lower about 5 per' cent to 7J per cent for scoured merino inferior and faulty wools, about "t\ to 10 per cent for medium and co.arse greasy crossbreds, and about 5 per cent for crossbred slipe and medium and coarse scoured crossbreds. Average current London value of the undernoted descriptions of New Zealand greasy wool: Good merino, 13id; medium merino, inferior merino, 9Jd;- fine crossbred, 13d; medium crossbred (40's), 9-ld; coarse crossbred (36's), 83d. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London House, dated 7th hist. : —Sales continue firm and active, with brisk competition as compared with closing rates of last' series. Merino : Wools of good quality and condition, scoured, 5- per cent lower; other descriptions, scoured, 1\ per cent to 10 per cent lower; good quality and conditioned greasy unchanged. Other descriptions, greasy, 5 per cent lower. Crossbred: Greasy wools of fine quality, 5 per cent lower; medium quality 1\ to 10 per cent lower; coarse quality, 5 to. 1\ per cent lower ; scoured unchanged; sliped wools, o to 1\ per cent lower. Total net quantity available, 198,000 bales. Sold to America, 4000 bales; Home consumption, 111,000 bales; sold .to-" Continent, 66,000 bales;.not offered,- 10,000, bales; carried forward,' 17,000 bales.

WELLINGTON WOOL SALES. Messrs Abraham- and Williams, Ltd., Wellington, report: The fourth sale of the series was held on Tuesday, .when the offerings, comprised about 12,800 bales, of which we catalogued 1965 bales. Bidding at the outset was very dull, but improved as the sale proceeded. Considering the sale was held on a falling market, a fairly satisfactory clearance was made. Prices for bright free wools were up to last sale's quotations, but'faulty, heavyconditioned parcels showed a decline of about halfpenny '. per lb. - Lambs' wool was in fair demand at about last sale's range of prices, especially' bright clean wool. The lower quality \vools, pieces, bellies, etc., also sold on a par with those ruling a month ago. PALMERSTON N. STOCK SALE. (Hy Telegraph—Special to the Age.) PALMERSTONN., Last Night. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:— At ■ oxir annua] sheep fair, held at Palmerston North yesterday, we offered 12,000 sheep. There was a good attendance, including a number of outside -buyers,

and competition for all classes was keen throughout the sale. Only three pens, for which vendors expected outside value were passed at auction, over 10,500 sheep being sold under the hammer.
