WILLIAM PITCAITHLY FOUND NOT GUILTY. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. * The hearing of the charge against William Pitcaithiy, shipping and Customs agent, of indecently assaulting a girl in his employ, was concluded in the Supreme Court to-day. In summing ;. ? , the Judge said" apart from the girl's "storyj there' "was no direct .evidence of indecency, and on that point the girl's story was uncorroborated. The jury would have to be careful in considering uncorroborated testimony, and he thought the evidence of the boys who saw'some' of tha incidents was of. little value. . The jury returned a verdict of hot guilty, and the prisoner was discharged. ' . • '.
