Mr William Shorn, the King's Trumpeter, arrived to-day to judge the Band Contest. - While being -shown round by the Mayor he visited the Horticultural ■ Societys Show, ivhich has just opened, and, "finding it was in need of funds, volunteered to give a recital there to-niorrow evening. '
