With the consent of the Prime Minister, Mr Asquith, the House of Common's referred to the Committee on Privileges the matters of Lord Roden's action in voting at the Downsouth (Ireland) election, and Lord Aberdeen's sending of a messagajo Mr'J. a Parliamentary candidate.- " \ (The Earl of Aberdeen, •LordLieutenant of Ireland, in a letter to Mr. Henderson ; stated:— "After a continuous residence in Ireland for years, watching affairs, and meeting people of every class and, creed, I am profoundly impressed concerning the absolute 'baselessness of the alarm about the consequences of Home Rule.")
