TEN MEDICAL MEN STRICKEN.

PEKIN, February 7. A thousand deaths from the plague have occurred at Tsitsihar. Ten members of the Russian Medical Corps at Harbin were stricken yesterday. Japanese officials are leaving for China to investigate the outbreak. The Chinese Government has granted 1,000,000 yen (about £IOO,000) for the purpose of fighting the epidemic. Professor Broque, of the Pasteur Institute, is going to the infected area.
