MAURICEVILLE WEST.
Several members of the School Committee and a sprinkling of the public were present at the opening of the Hazard Target, which has been installed in the school, under the order of the Junior Cadet Department.' Several bull's-eyes were scored during the evening, but only once was the bell rung; the honour falling to Mr Dick Bi'oolis (chairman) Avho is one of our crack rifle shots. All present expressed themselves thoroughly satisfied with the whole outfit. The annual school picnic will be held on the Horse-Shoe Bend on Thursday nest. ■■*-*"' :: ■ I
