j; ; REQUIRED FOR EDUCATION. • ; Some time ago : the' ysettlers of Niijeaha* near Eketahuha, approached Ithe Wellington' Education Board with a view to getting a school reserve of seven acres in that district set aside for the purposes of a recreation ground., The Board could' not legally dedicate "the, land/--'but agreed to hand.it over to the Minister; for: Lands,: provided that'the |;. latter :^4ve:, aVsqhool ; site at /'Silver-^ :,stream sioner of Crown Lands offered a ' site, but irot sufficiently large for j the purposes of the Board. As the j matter, seemed to ib'eV hanging fire, i Mr A. H. Vile moved at yesterday's | ! meeting of the Board, "That the ! j Minister of Lands: be asked to make an adequate grant of a school site at Silverstreain in exchange for the; school reserve at Nireaha as soon as possible, as the settlers of Nireaha, .urgently require the reserve in that ' ! district for recreation purposes." Mr A. W>Hogg, M.P., seconded tlie resolution,; which was carried.
