LONDON WOOL SALES-

Tlie New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cable- I gram from tlieir London house under date 2?.tli inst.— Wool. —As compared with last sales' closing, rates, prices are lower about 5 per cent, for greasy merino, inferior and | scoured merino; about par to 5 per cent, for greasy merino medium, coarse scoured crossbred, medium greasy crossbred, medium scoured crossbred and fine greasy crossbred; and about the same for lambs, gransy merino super, coarse greasy crossbred, crossbred slipe, and fine -scoured crossbred. Market generally better, with increasing American demand.

PONGAROA STOCK SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows: We held the above sale on the 26tli inst., when we offered to a large attendance of farmers a good entry; sheep, however, were not up to advertised | numbers ,several clients being prevented from bringing forward their entries 'by the bush fires. All the sheep excepting two pens changed hands at prices well up to outside values. Quotations.
