MASTERTON COMPETITIONS SOCIETY.

GENERAL COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the General . Committee of the Master ton Competitions Society was held last evening, there .being present Messrs R. W. Robson (chairman) F. Hunn, G. C. Branson ,R. J. Young, M. R. Varnham, and the Revs. Watson and" Hodge. Apologies for absence were received from Dr Cook and Messrs A. H. Vile and-J, - ryor.

Recommendations from the Programme Committee as to the conditions for governing tfne competitions, and a draft programme were adopted.

The -secretary was instructed to write to several gentlemen, whose navies were submitted, asking them if they were willing to act as judges of the different competitions, and is so, what terms they would accept.

With regard,> r to : the test anthem for church choirs, it was decided that the minimum number of voices be 16, and the maximum 28.. A bagpipe competition was added to the programme.
