MAURICEVILLE WEST.
A heavy rain set in. on Friday evening, after a threatening day, and; should be much appreciated by the farming community. The local school, in conjunction with the milk suppliers, held a most successful picnic. In- spite of the threats ening day a good number attended!. A good programme of events was put through, soma of them being, very amusing. The prizes won during, the year were* presented, and a fine lot of toys distributed among thesmaller children. All the arrangements were- carried out by an ener-. getic committee of both ladies and; gentlemen in a creditable manner, and a very enjoyable day was brought to a close by the us ual dancing and. singing. . .
