SENSATIONAL ACCIDENT.

ON TE ORE ORE ROAD. VICIOUS HORSE SEIZES A MAN'S HAND. A sensational accident, which ended in painful injuries to at least one of the parties concerned, occurred on the Te Ore Ore road, near Masterton, on Saturday evening. Mr Jensen, a Te Ore Ore farmer, with his family, was driving into town, when his horse took fright and swerved, upsetting the vehicle and throwing out the occupants, one of whom was a little child. Mrs Jensen and the children escaped with severe shaking, whilst Mr Jensen suffered injuries to his face. Mr Charles ("Chris") O'Brien, of Masterton, was passing on horseback when^the accident occurred, and he promptly dismounted and seized the fractious animal attached to the trap by the head. The horse, which is of a vicious temperament, immediately seized him by the hand, and threw him round like a toy. It was with some difficulty that Mr O'Brien exj tricated his hand from the horse's mouth, and the injuries he sustained were of a very painful character, the arteries and the bone being laid bare. O'Brien mounted bis own horse, after seeing that the Jensens were uninjured, and rode into Masterton, where s his wounds were dressed by Dr. Prvor, and stitched up. The shafts of the vehicle driven by : Jensen were both broken.
