SHEEP TRUCKS AND RACES.
A race-meeting may be a" good thing for' the country. It may swell the revenue per medium of the totalizator, and bring shekels to the coffers of the Railway Department. But, after.;ally itiis-voniy a- minor concern compared with the-great primary industries of the Dominion. There is no excuse whatever for the dislocation of the sheep trade to provide trucks for Wellington "sports" to journey to a race meeting. The thing is intolerable. It ig bad business. It has no justification whatever.
