A; ineetingypf ythe EWcutive of the .Masjterton 'Park Beautifying Committee was held, last evening, there being present:~ His Worship the Mayor (Mr J. M. Coradine), arid Messrs J. Prentice, W. Tv'Mansi,.field, Z. ; M. HqaT,v Darrocto, j L. hS:* r liewis, Biggs, J'*€Jbradine junr., vWr M> Easthop'e, A. E: Wilton, I or, J. Cfosbie, A. McLeod, F. Himn, i' Q. C Branson, J. Candy, J. A. McEwen^.Georgeson'^;W. ■EU ;• Jack-. son> J Pauling, and R. .Brown. It was decided',that the amateur athletic and swimming events be left in the hands of the officials of the clubs with. ■'■ The' Fire Brigade events were left in the hands of Superintendent Jenj kins and Mr Wilton.'4 v Mesdames.H. ;T. Wood, Beetjiam and Mackersey, and Mr W. H. Jackson, .were appointed to act as judges in :■; the. '• decorative eompeti-. tions. .■-■.'',. .■ - ..' , i ,The>motor-cyele riding competition an<i. the motor-car driving competition wil J be. judged by Messrs" R. Brown.and J. H. Pauling. The judging of the baby N competi•tions will be done by Mrs W. H. Hosking and His Worship the Mayor 1 and his wife. ;>.. '• , ; On the motion of Mr Jackson, seconded by Mr Hunu, Mrs Kendall and Mr J. Pryoiv were appointed' to judge '• the competition ;for most originally dressed boy and girl, most unique poster, best comic costume on bicycle, and best illuminated boat. .-- The arrangement, of the times for the starting' of the events was 'left in the ' hands of Messrs Hurin, GeoTgejson, Crosbie, Coradine junr., IVJcEwen, and Pryor. This committee was given permission" to get the programme printed. •. Mr W. H. Jackson offered to take i tlie responsibility: of disposing of '■ tlie tickets.— : The offer was accepted and a vote of thanks was ac- [ corded Mr Jackson. , Several present volunteered' to act . • as gatekeepers. It was decided to grant the Maori entertainers free admission. '.■: 7> was decided to obtain some hun- , 'dreds of flags for decorations.
