THE BRITISH NOTE. AWAITING PERSIAN MEASURES. (Received Last Night, 11.45 o'clock.) TEHERAN, January 24. The British Note, in reply to Persia, points out that the improved conditions in Southern Persia are due to the excessive severity of the winter. Britain awaits the results of Persian measures before insisting on her demands^ The Indian officers are unable to regard the surcharge of 10 per cent, oh southern import duties, since this will fall on the British imports, unless the British officers organise the gendarmerie.
