HIS RicENT CRITICISMS. IS HE A LIBELLER? •(Received Last Night, 9.10 o'clock.) SYDNEY, January 23. Mr John Foster Fraser, in a letter to the newspaper "Sun," dealing with Australian reviews of his book on Australia, says that, drawing a general impression from the lot, lie is conscious that the .is, "You are a libeller."' He claims; that ; iu spite of the comments he made there was a warm-hearted affection for "the land, and -peoplebehind the pen. It wai.said that his facts ..were wrong. May be he got them from Government publications, officials and Australian newspapers. Mr Fraser concludes: "I cannot f-v any more. I used my pen, as I hoped, for the advantage of your *cbsrsry." ■•" '■ ;'-.

Mr Fraser mentions that a wellknown Australian read his manuscript. He sent the first'half to Sir George Reid, High Commissioner for .-who suggested tay number 'of "corrections. Mr Fraser -pointed out that some of these conflicted with matter culled from Government books. Sir G. Reid took .the huff, and returned the rest of the manuscript, saying he would take no responsibility in regard to the book.
