THE RAILWAY CONFERENCE.
The conference to be held in Masterton on Thursday, to deal with ,the services, may, or may not, be attended with practical results. It will, at any rate, enable the representatives of the various portions of the district-toyarrive 'at»something like unanimity. There" *will, of Necessity,'"Be conflicting interests when the time-table is under review; but each portion of. the district should be prepared to make .a. little sacrifice, so long as the aggre- ■< ' gate gain is something. It would be | a mistake to ask too much, for the, Minister is not in the humour for making concessions unless he is convinced .that' they will pay. the.
