THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. UNCLE TOM'S CABIN. The film, describing the principal incidents in Mrs Beecher Stowe's world-famous story "Uncle Tom's Cabin" was mainly responsible for the packed house again at the Foresters' Hall last eevning. The picture was greeted with the utmost entlrusiasm, and it was admitted on all' sides to be the best cinematographic subject ever seen in Masterton. The escape of Eliza across the ice on the Ohio River in a blinding snowstorm was a beautiful piece of realistic photography. The principal scenes depicted were taken on the actual spots described by Mrs Stowe in her book, and in consequence it took a long time—three years—to complete the picture, while the cdst was £SOOO. Supporting this great are a number off excellent dramas, comics, scenic and industrial-film's, which pleased the audience. 1-e current programme will be shown, for the last time this evening, and lovers ©f moving pictures are advised not to miss this capital series.
