THE WAIKAREMOANA SCHEME. At the meeting of the Council of the Mastorton Chamber of Commerce yesterday, a letter was read from the Hastings Chamber of Commerce, enclosing the following resolution passed by that Chamber.;- 'That the Chambers; of Commerce from . It was asked that the Mastorton Chamber appoint a delegate. ! Mr Daniell stated that the scheme appeared to have a good deal to recommend it. He did not know, however, that they wore in a position to express an opinion on the subject from this distance. The chairman stated that the cost of conveying electricity from Waikaremoana would be considerable. He did not know that they had industries sufficient in the country to warrant the ■ adoption of such a large scheme. He suggested that further details be obtained before appointing a delegate.
