It has done practically .nothing, however, to assist young New Zealanders ? or old New Zealanders, for that matter, in gaining access to these natural wonders. Strange as it may appear, not five per cent..of the population of the Dominion knows anything .of the. marvels of Rotorua or the charms of the fiords and lakes of : the South. 3Fhe tourist is a good enough asset in his way. He is .alright- from a business point of- view. But. New Zealanders do not- live-for business alone. They want a little enjoyment out of life. And it is the duty of the Government to afford facilities for the people of' its own country »seeirig something 1 of the wonders of their native or adopted;land.
