WHAKATAKI HACK RACING CLUB.

The annual meeting to be held on February 4th, is being looked forward to by the residents of the district, as it is confidently expected that really good, racing will he assured. A number of leading settlers are included in the list of officials, and they maybe depended upon to carry out the arrangements in connection with the meeting in an up-to-date manner. Several horses in different parts of the Wairarapa have been put .into work in view of this meeting, and quite a number of sportsmen from this district intend assisting at the fixture. Many of those who havo attended in . past years speak highly of the nature of the sport provided, consequently the Whakataki meetings are generally favoured by those who like to witness well fought out contests. Nominations are due to-morrow (Friday) for the Castlepoint Cup. and Tinui Hiindicn'p, for which weights will be declared on- 25th linst. by Mr A. Mason. The remaining events are post entry.
