Bates' summary and forecast are as follow.— The barometer rose everywhere on Monday 'night, but has fallen slightly everywhere to-day. The winds have been moderate and variable, but northerly winds no;v pi-evail, except in the Southern districts and W,est coast of the South Island, Avhere westerly winds are still reported. Present indications are for increasing haziness with mild iind" changeable weather jgenerally. Freshening northerlyi winds will probably prevail, ; : and the. barometer will fall slowly, everywhere... ■
