A NEW POSITION. WRIT ISSUED AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT. (Received Last Night, 9 o'clock.) -.j MELBOURNE, January 16. J Fritnk Osborne, solicitor, has issued a writ against the Federal Government, asking for a declaration that the Land Tax is invalid, and not within "the powers of the Commonwealth. He made application for an injunction restraining the Commonwealth from requiring returns or entering upon his land to make valuations. ,
