DISTRICT NEWS.

i Everybody wont to Langdalo sports, and everybody's opinion is that it \vas the best day's sport ever witnessed in the diserict. This is not only local talk, but talk of people who have attended sports in many parts of the world. The horse events, as usual, were the principal attraction, and the horsemanship was superb, and would compare favourably with such feats of the sort anywhere. The horses taking part were a particularly fine lot of animals, and entered into the sport with a will. In the hunters' competition the jumping was of a high order, and the placed horse will bo hard to beat at the next Masterton show. It Mould be an impossibility to single out the hardest worker among the committee, as one and all had ona intention, and that was to irake the gathering the success it was. .The weather was perfect, and an excellent lunch provided crowned a most pleasant outing. - Great interest, is being taken in' the ' clay pigeon match, which will be - held at Whakataki on Saturday; the ■2lst iiist..:. All .the leading .shots in the" district are .takmgV pa'rt. The!/ match is an open one, and everybody is invited to take part. .Entries for Mr J. Barty's medal are, free, and are to be made on the ground, pigeons only to be paid for. This being the opening match of the club, there are practically no restrictions, and any size bore, or any make of cartridges, can be used. Given fine weather, a good day's sport is assured.
