RAILWAY COMPANIES' OFFER. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) : LISBON, January 14. | The Railway Companies have offer- | ed an increase in wages of £30,000 annually, a nine hours' day, and free passes to all employers and their families. It is explained that the dividends of the Companies are less today than tliey were twenty-years ago, .and that the debenture-holders are only receiving a portion of their interest. The strikers, who insist upon the concession of their full demands, are now in possession of the managerial jexecutive office, and are appropriating the books and documents. The concessions granted include twenty days' leave on full pay. : -The gas workers have now struck. ! Naval stokers have re-lighted the furnaces at the gasworks. The military dispersed the strikers who were objecting.
