MEXICAN REVOLT
THREE-HOURS CONFLICT. GUARDS OVERWHELMED. (Received January 14, 0 a.m.) NEW YORK, January 14. A battle was fought at Las Vascas, Mexico, between the Rural Guards and insurgents. The Guards were in overwhelmingly superior numbers; nevertheless, eighteen insurgents drove them off with heavy losses. The fight lasted three hours, when the Federals withdrew. The insurgents buried nine dead bodies before retreating to their mountain stronghold.
