EFFECT OF A RECENT AWARD. The recent award of the Arbitration Court concerning the payment of wage's fortnightly instead of monthly 'by Dairy Companies is causing considerable inconvenience to Companies in the Wairarapa, which have been in the habit of paying wages monthly. It is contended that the change was not desired by tho majority of dairy fac- • tory employees. Another substantial grievance in respect to the award is the restricting of the 1 hours of labour from seventy to sixty per week. It is impossible, in the flush of the season, , to perform all the work necessary in a,-factory in sixty hours, .and the result is that companies have, been compelled to pay considerable" sums in overtime, , . *
