AMUSEMENTS.

THOMPSONrPAYNE fICTURES.

. The second change.oi programme] thisweek at the Foresters' Hall :dr,ew., another good house last evening, despite the rain. ."Frequent-applause gave evidence of cpmpleteV' enjoy- < meht of the films presented. The programme is particularly/ strong as regards dramatic studies. '.'The Iconoclast" is a. powerful subject, and shows a hot-headed /workman whose hand was ever against ihe capitalist, won over .through'.'the mediation of a little child. "tXisci-, pline and a Kind Act'' is a thought-out story, requiring. ih& best efforts of the capable 7 .artists entrusted with the varknis ■• roles. "Lost in the Soudan'' is an exciting picture which found much favour. One of the, best, comedies.ever, presented at the Foresters'- Hall, was that entitled "The Wooing O'ot." The picture deals v.:th the daily incidents; in' the routine of ;a young; ladies' college run by a prepossessing old maid and a young gehtlemon's college next door, presided over by a bachelor professor. There 'aire some screamingly funny incidents over the garden wall, not the least of these being the professor making love to'the lady principal of the girls' academy, and being caught in the act by the pupils of both schools. Of the comics, "Tweedle Dum as a Jockey" was the best, and some funny wrestling, boxing, footracing and steepleehasing are depicted in the pictm-e. The remainder of the films go to make up a capital programme, winch will be shown for the last time- tonight.
