RESCUES BY LIFKBOATS.
STEAMER STRIKES A ROCK
(Received Last Night, 9.20 o'clock.) LONDON, January 12. A gale is raging in the east and south of Britain. Its velocity has reached as high as sixty miles an hour, with occasionally greater violence. Smaller vessels have suffered severely. •*.he lifeboats have made a number of gallant rescues in the face of mountainous seas. ' The steamer Bush Mills has struck on the Nimrod Rocks, near Holyhead.
