THE DANNEVIRKE SHOW.
Entries for the above event, which takes place on the Bth February, are now coming in ' freely, and. intending exhibitors are reminded that, by making their entries in, good time they will greatly facilitate the work of •the officials, especially as it is.anticipated that considerable additions .will have to be made to the yards and pelt accommodation. To the attractiveness of the show from a spectator's point of view, and to the important jumping events, 'wo have previously referred, jit is already certain that, there will be a large entry of good horses competing in these. To tlie Champion Jump alone there is close on £4O prize money allotted. Considerable interest will also centre in the dairy cattle and pig classes: As dairying is rapidly becoming the staple industry of many thousands of acres within a good radius of Danneyirke, there is ample room and opportunity for the introduction of right classes of" stock. Dairymen on their part are fully alive to the all-importance of improving their herds, and anything good in the show pens is certain to excite keen interest. The show wilf be under Ministerial patronage, and application having been made to the General Manager of Railways for excursion fares from Masterton, , Palmerston North, and Napier, it is hoped, and expected that the visitors on this occasion will largely exceed innumber even the big attendance at; last year's inaugural siiow.
