A car, driven by Dr. Fullarton, ran into the Tiurnsden-Invercar-gill tr-a-in, and was caught between two carnages and carried to the <cattle stops and completely wrecked. Besides the doctor, his car contained his housekeeper, nurse Martin, her sister and two young nieces. One of tire children, aged 7, was killed instantaneously. Dr Fullarton sustained a fractured skull and other serious 'injuries, which proved fatal, half an hour later. Nurse Martin sustained injuries to her arm and forehead and is under treatment at the hospital. Her sister and neice escaped uninjured, but they are suffering from shock. High trees cut off the view of the rai'way an.l in sure the crossing dangerous.
