The Masterton Lawn Tennis CWh'-s grounds," on which the tournament is to take place, are at present being most'assiduously cared for, and promise .'to prove hi splendid condition for the tournament.

Owing to tne large number of entries expected, the committee have scciired the use of the two courts in Qhapel ;Street, now ;belonging to the Masterton Y.M.C.A. Tennis Club, who have very kindly placed their Courts; at: the disposal of the Mas-* ';tdrtoh.,Club for-tiiis occasion.

- The ; iprogtaupne,, a comprehensive oiie/;, provides for ten events'—-five.phampionships and five handicaps—-but as these have already in these'•. columns they-need not be recapitulated here. Xr<ipljies to the value of\£2;i 7s. 6d are being allotted for the various events, in addition to the two challenge cups provided by the Wellington Provincial uawn Tennis Association.. . .■'■•■'■

Evidence of the popularity of a tournament run under the auspices of this club,-may be gathered from the fact that competitors from all parts of the district have signified their intention of engaging in the contests, end not only so, but players will bo present, from other .provinces of both the North and. .South. "Islands. Amongst those who have already \ signified .their intention, of playing ill" the tournament are : : Messrs J. C. Peacock and F. M". B. Fisher, holders of the N.Z.
