The Northern Bowling Association's tournament was commenced thisrmorning, in fine weather* which, however, became showery as the, day wore on.; The visiting bowlers were accorded an official reception by the Mayor of Auckland before play commenced.
Three rounds, of thev Champion Fours match were played in. .twelve sections, the play, resulting*.as 'follows : "A" Section.— Mcintosh (Onehunga),vFoy (Hawera.), and Stormont are leading with three wins each. ; . ; "B" Section.— Trevethick (Hutt), is leading with three wins; Lockhead'; (Feilding) and Rankin (Wan-ganlst)-have won one and lost "-two games. ! v ....-'. ."' Houston (Victoria) ahd : Robertson (Hawera) are leading with three; wins each,; Pipkeriug (Palmerston N.) has two wins and one; loss,; while Lusher (Manaia), And Lawrie (Napier,) have three losses each. ;
"D" Section.— Ballinger is. leading with three (H<astDiidJey„:..(.Op,u.uji,ke) have two wins \ and one loss each, whjje Bamfield (Wanganui) has one Vwin and two losses.
. a'-'E" Section.— Rankin, (Mt. Eden), and• Ma&on-;; (Pihamsi):.... are leading with three wins; Ma-sson hW,'l(Caiterton) and William -'(Pa-tea) three losses each.
,"F" Section.— Dingle (Auckland)'is, leading with three wins; W. Pragnell (Masterton), and Jackson (Stratford) have two wins and one loss each; Nash (Palmerston N.) and Gordon (St. John'.) one win and two losses each, and Mackay (Westport) three losses. ■..-..■..-.
"G" Section.— Crowley (Greenmeadows) and Prince (Newtown) are leading with three wins each; Stewart (Peilding) and Sangster (Stratford) have one win and two losse* each.' •
"H" Section.— Veale (Ponsonby), and Keesing (Wanganui) are leading with three wins each; Witty (Gisborne) and Webster (Greytown), having three losses each. "I" Section. Martin (Rocky Nook')'is leading with three wins; Ponsford (Gisborne) and Bull (Napier )have two wins; and one loss each; W. Pragnell (Masterton) and Lomax (Nelson) have one win and two losses each.
"K" Section.— Parsons (Ponsonby) is leading with three wins; Saywell (Feilding) has two . wins and one loss; Eureka (Gisborne) and Martin (Turanganui) one win and two losses each.
"L" Section.— Gardner (Ponsonby) is leading with three wins; Perry (Masterton) and Carman (Eltham) have one win and two losses each; Craig (Gisborne) has three losses. "M" Section.— Dingwall (Remuera) and Fisher (Carterton) are leading with three wins each; Greig (Gis borne) and King (Hastings) have two wins and one loss each; Clai*k (Dannevirke) and Gregg (Palmerston N.) have one win and two losses, and Benton (Featherston) three losses.
