DISTRICT NEWS.
(From Our Own Correspondents.) CARTERTON Mr G. W. Dollar lias dona-ted £1 to the funds of the local brass band. Several local residents are at present spending a short holiday at the seaside* Mr J. H. McCalden has been appointed manager of the Wa-irarapa Bacon Factory at Carterton. Mr H. R. Bunnv has let his "Daleton" property at South Carterton, to Miss Whitestone, of Wellington, and it is understood that a private hospital is to be established there. The Rev. R. Young, vicar of -St. Mark's Church is amongst those enjoying a holiday at the seaside, Wellington. The public donation list in aid of the Carterton.swimming bath nonshows subscriptions amounting to £135 8s 3d.
