FIRE ON A STEAMER.
DAMAGE* EXTENSIVE. (Received January ,7, 9 a.m.) January 8. The steamer Newby Hall, from Australia to South Africa, has arrived at Lorenzo Marques, and reported that a fire, the result of spontaneous combustion, burnt the goods in the main hold. An injection of steam extinguished the fire. The damage to the hull is extensive.
