UNITED STATES AND CANADA. THE PROPOSED TREATY. , Received This Morning, 12.50 o'clock. OTTAWA,* January 6. There is a general belief that the reciprocity treaty between Canada and the United States is on the eve of conclusion. The attitude of both Governments reciprocally is known, and it only remains to discover a working agree ment. , Messrs Paterson and Fielding have departed for Washington, intending to remain there a fortnight.
