1 THE PAPAL DECREE. | (Received juast Night, 10.50 o'clock.) ! ' LONDON, January 6. 1 Six thousand Protestants at Belfast'have held a ' demonstration, against the Papal decree of mixed marriages. The .Moderator of the General Assembly, who presided, said he did>n'pt object to the Church of Rome legislating its own sphere for the guidance of its own members, but strenuously protested against the Papacy imposing Jaws on the Protestants. Tha.meeting resolved -that a decree in a community like Ireland's would j increase the cleavage of Protestants and Catholics.
