HOME RULE
MANIFESTO BY MR REDMOND. THE PEOPLE'S MANDAIE. (Received Last Night, 10.50 o'clock.) " LONDON, January 6. Mr J. Redmond, M.P., leader of the Nationalist Party, is issuing a manifesto in the shape of an article in to-morrow's issue of Reynolds' Newspaper, in which he declares that the election has given Mr Asquith a clear and unequivocal mandate on the lines of his Albert Hall speech. Mr Redmond rejoices that'the democracies of Ireland "and Britain' have understood each other, and are now united. .; He affirms that no Ulster question has been raised. So far as Ulster being Protestant is concerned, he points out that 44 per cent, of the population is Roman Catholip and Home, Rulers. These hold sixteen and thirty-three seats respectiveJ y-" -''.'//.':,.' .v.—. .'"■, V'": •. In his article, -Mr Redmond emphasises" -the' fact" that 'the '; Home" Rule- movement lis national, arid riot sectarian.. He adds: "Under Home Rule, the Protestant minority will have equal rights and liberties with Catholics, who entertain feelings of deep respect and affection for them.",
