Powles, of Wellington, and Capt.,Melville,, of Otago, have been selected : attend the instructional, camp at Tauheronikau;. Lieut. Pow-les is at present on the active unattached list! He served with the' Sixtli Contingent 'in South - Africa, leaving here as Sergt.-Major, and re-; turning a\Lieuten'aht, w r innmg his . motion in the field. " Lieut. p'Sullivah (Blenheim), Sergt.. Smail (Timaru), and Corporal Webb (Cfhristchurch) ■ have been s appointed non-commissioned officer, instructors, and will also go into camp, at Tauherenikau. • v - v ' ■ A squad of the R.N.Z.A. went to Tauherenikau to-day to pitch the camp. All the officers appointed have been instructed to be in camp by Saturday., and practically all. of them will be there on the specified date. In one or two instances extension: of a few days has been granted. Major Hughes, the asst;-camp comfnandant, leaves for iFeatherston topio'rrow. . Capt. Hamilton,; A.D.€". -.'lo his Excellency the Governor, will act as comp adjutant. His Excellency has sanctioned the appointment, arid officers are being notified that mess, dress need not. be taken to camp, but that blue serge jackets will be worn at dinner. ; :i-' --V'' I '' .
