DARING BURGLARY

UNION CO.'S OFFICES ENTERED, DYNAMITE USED. (Received January 4, 9 a.m.) HOBART, January 4. Burglars made a daring attempt to rob the Union Steam Ship Company's office. The office was entered through a window, after fruitless attempts had been made to force the doors. . The burglars ransacked the tills and drawers without getting anything, and then inserted two charges of dynamite in the- keyhole of the strong-room door and blew off the fastenings, but the lock .remainedjntact. ' *;" ■'"' . The robbers, evidently alarmed by the noise of the explosion, left the building without any further attempt .finish their work, or without^ securing any booty. A charwoman in the morning found the offices full of smoke. No arrests have so far been made.
