Gray now heads the list of winning jockeys on the flat this season with 26 wins, while W. Young with 15 victories is in the lead in hurdle- racing. Tho principal events to be run at the Auckland meeting on Monday are the Great Northern Derby, of 1000 sovs., and the Racing Club Handicap, of 850 sovs. The meeting <if Danube and King Soult in the first-named event is causing a lot of interest.
