HOUNDSDITCH TRAGEDY.
ACCUSED PERSONS REMANDED EXPERT OPINIONS. (Received December 30, 10 a.m.) LONDON, December 29. J I Three.men and two women, all Russians, arrested on charges oi' being concerned in tlie burglary at Houndsditch, which ended in the killing of three policemen and the' death of one of the burglars, appeared at the Guildhall yesterday, but were remanded. The detectives are searching for the two remaining principals in the outrage. The work of translation of the letters found iii the house in Stepney is not yet completed, but sufficient is known of their contents to open new. avenues of enquiry in London and on the Continent. Government experts are of the opinion that, though conceivably the contents of the bottles were to be used in the manufacturing of explosives on a small scale, there is 110th-' ing to indicate that explosives were actually manufactured. ; The police consider the Hounds- ! ditch burglary was planned to obtain j money for the manufacture of bombs , on a large scale for export to. Russia. Recently a large consignment of bombs, which arrived in. a vessel from the Thames, was seized at St. i Petersburg.
