NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast are as follow. — The weather has' been changeable and rain has fallen about Cook Straits with squally south-westerly winds. A small area of low pressure which passed in the south on Wednesday night, was followed by moderate to strong westerly and southerly winds generally. Present indications are for a temporary rise in barometer pressure, and fair weather generally, though in parts cloudy and unsettled weather at times. The winds will probably decrease shortly from the southward, and change to northerly after from 24 to 36 hours, and then increase, especially southward of New Plymouth and Napier.
