THE FUNERAL OBSEQUIES.
DISTRESSING SCENES
(Received Last Night, 11 o'clock.) LONDON, December 28. Distressing scenes occurred at the funeral of th? Bolton victims. The burials were so numerous that the funeral ceremonies continued until after dark. At the inquest, the Coroner asked each witness whether the deceased had complained regarding the mine. The majority replied in the negative. Several recalled complaints, having been made about th& presence of gas in the pit. One of the deceased returned homo sick from the effects of gas on four consecutive mornings before the explosion. Another predicted a great disaster.
