FARMERS DISTRIBUTING COMPANY.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of shareholders of the New Zealand Farmers' Distributing Company was held at the Company's office on Monday, and was attended by farmers from Nelson, Rangitikei, Manawatu, Horowhenua, Pahautanui, and Hutt districts. The chairman (Mr Wilson) in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, congratulated shareholders on the very satisfactory condition of the company. Large additions, he said, had been made to the premises in order to cope with the increase in business during the coming season. A new departure was the issue of bonus coupons with each account, sales entitling the holder to a rebate in commission at the end of the year. The fact that no charge by the company was made for "receiving and delivery" was a great, saving to the suppliers. Li conclusion, the chairman said that shareholders would all be pleas"ed to know that the claim against the State Coal Department had been settled, the company receiving £650. The motion for the adoption of the report was seconded by Mr H. J. Richards and carried unanimously. The retiring directors (Messrs J. G. AVilson, Jas. Pearce, and M. W. Welch) were re-elected unopposed. Mr H. D. Viokery was elected auditor. The meeting pased a motion heartily thanking Mr W. H. Field, M.P., for his splendid services in assisting to arrive at a satisfactory settlement of the recent claim against the Government. Votes of thanks were accorded the chairman, directors, and the staff. At a subsequent meeting, Mr J. G. Wilson was re-elected chairman of directors. In the evening the directors journeyed by motor care to Epuni, near Lower Hutt, where a very successful meeting of farmers was held.
